Vancouver Island has been an obvious hole in Berm's Canadian map. I have added Mount Washington, Langford Gravity Zone, Mount Tzouhalem, Maple Mountain, Mount Prevost / Swuq'us and Steve Smith Bike Park. Together they make a useful north-to-south riding list without pretending the Island is one uniform trail network.
The map now separates lift laps from shuttle downhill, technical cross-country, pedal-access enduro and purpose-built jump parks. Use the counts to understand what Berm currently carries, then open each guide to see how the lines connect.
Mount Washington Bike Park
Comox Valley · Vancouver Island
Mount Washington is the lift day in this group. Berm currently maps 25 official trail segments and two bike-haul lifts, with machine-built flow on one side of the menu and roots, rocks and rougher natural tech on the other. Greenline and Panda Gardens cover the first steps; Time Warp, Back in Black and the Monster Mile tracks push much harder.
The 2026 park runs daily through 7 September before switching to published September weekends. Hours, open terrain and lift status move through the season, so check the live bike-park report before buying a ticket or driving up.
Langford Gravity Zone & Jordie Lunn Bike Park
Langford · Greater Victoria
Langford puts progression in one compact area. Berm currently maps 20 official features across the forest trails, pump tracks and jump lines, from green learning loops to the Pro Jump Line. It is a better place to repeat a corner or jump until it clicks than to chase kilometres for their own sake.
The park is free and designed for year-round use, but individual features can close for maintenance or events. Read the City of Langford notice board before assuming every line is available.
Mount Tzouhalem
Duncan · Cowichan Valley
Tzouhalem has the broadest trail mix of the three Cowichan mountains in this update. Berm currently maps 33 official segments, mostly blue with a set of black options. Double D brings the fast bermed flow; Rocky Mountain Ridge and Resurrection add rock, roots and steeper decisions.
This is a pedal-access municipal forest network, not a staffed bike park. Conditions, wildfire restrictions and trail work matter, so check North Cowichan's notices and the current map before picking a trailhead.

Save the park, keep the trail map close and track every lap with Berm.
Maple Mountain
Crofton · Cowichan Valley
Maple is the roots-and-rocks cross-country choice. The 10 official segments in Berm form longer loops than the number suggests, with technical climbing and black descents on Maple Syrup and Tony's Arbutus. Phloem is the change of pace: a blue flow trail where speed and rhythm replace some of the usual trail chatter.
Start from the Osborne Bay Road entrance for the main riding access. The network is free, but wet weather, forestry work and wildfire controls can change access; use the municipal update before setting off.
Mount Prevost / Swuq'us
North Cowichan · Cowichan Valley
Prevost is not the warm-up hill. All 17 trail segments currently mapped in Berm are graded black or pro, with steep fall-line riding, rough race-track ground, gaps and committed jump lines. Adrenaline, Patchworks and Puttin' on the Ritz tell you more about the day than a generic trail count ever could.
There is no public uplift ticket and no simple beginner lap. Riders pedal or arrange their own shuttle when the forestry road is open, and the vehicle gate can close during high wildfire risk. Check access first and arrive with the bike and protection for proper downhill terrain.
Steve Smith Bike Park
Nanaimo · Central Vancouver Island
Steve Smith Bike Park is another focused skills session rather than a trail-network day. Berm currently maps 10 official segments covering the pump track, return line and progressive dirt jumps. The short loop back to the start is the point: more attempts, less time disappearing up a fire road.
The public park is free and sits beside the Marie Davidson BMX facility at Beban Park. Check City of Nanaimo notices for maintenance or event closures before planning a long drive around a jump session.
